Selector of the fiction collection. He, Him, His. Film and television, theater, travel, restaurants, cooking, books, comics, Doctor Who. Yes, I do have every issue of Doctor Who Magazine (1979- ).
Former volunteer librarian of the Massachusetts Orchid Society. Built up the holdings from a small, dated, poorly maintained, and unused collection of books into what was said by visiting speakers to be among the finest collection of orchid books and periodicals held by a local orchid society in the country. In 2005, the MOS named the library the Paul F. Engelberg Library, for having assembled “a world-class collection of literature.”
Volunteered with PLAN International USA (formerly Childreach) to raise awareness in the Boston area of the organization's international development projects, and to connect new local sponsors with children in developing nations. Visited indigenous communities all around Ecuador and met my sponsored child Nube and her family in Cojitambo, west of Azogues, capital of Cañar province.
Before becoming a librarian, I was a Database Administrator, a Computer Programmer, a Foster Grandparent Coordinator, an Infant-Toddler Teacher (14-18 months), and an Afterschool Program Teacher in the first such program serving families of Boston's Chinatown (Kindergarten-2nd Grade).
