Library Spaces

Program Room

The Douglas Cady ’58, ’02 & Betsy Elder Program Room is located on the Mezzanine level of the Library.  Seating 28 people in flexible configurations, the Program Room is designed as a cutting-edge instructional space. Our reservation policy prioritizes Library instruction and other academic purposes. While Library instruction sessions always have priority over other uses of the space, we do allow bookings for academic, departmental, and administrative events. Bookings for such other uses - including class meetings, special events, and departmental meetings - can only be accommodated as one-time events. Please note: The Library Program Room is not set up for hybrid meetings or classes.

Please note the following booking policies:

Booking the Program Room for Academic or Departmental Meetings

Given that the Program Room is used as both as a Library instruction classroom and as a meeting space for the Wentworth community, we have adopted the following general booking policies:

  • Bookings must be made no more than one month in advance of the requested reservation date.
  • We will not book recurring meetings for purposes other than Library instruction.

The Program Room is in especially heavy demand for Library instruction purposes during the first half of the semester. For this reason, bookings must be made no more than one week in advance of the requested reservation date during the following times:

  • The first two months of the fall semester (approx. Sept. 1 – Oct. 31)
  • The first six weeks of the spring semester (approx. Jan. 1 – Feb. 15)

Student Use of the Program Room

Students are welcome to use the Program Room when it is not otherwise reserved, as long as the room is vacated in anticipation of the arrival of the next party with a reservation. Students may not book the Program Room at all on weekdays from 8am-6pm, nor during midterms, reading period, or final exams.  Student reservations will be considered for the following time slots: Monday—Friday, 7am-8am; Monday—Thursday after 6pm; and Saturdays and Sundays.

If you have questions about the Program Room, please contact Malissa Redmond, Library Administrative Services Coordinator, redmondm2@wit.edu.

Please note, the Program Room is a Collab (C) Zone.
