Ashley Bryan
Head Librarian for Access Services & Archivist
Ashley Bryan (she/her) is a librarian, archivist, and historian. She received both her MLIS (with a concentration in Archives Management) and her MA in History from Simmons University in 2021. Her graduate History Thesis focused on the cultural and professional practices of American women in the evolving deathcare field before and after the Civil War using diaries and funerary trade journals as primary sources.
Originally from Michigan, Ashley received a BS from Central Michigan University in Public History, Museum Studies, and Anthropology in 2018. At CMU, she researched NAGPRA and the repatriation of museum items to their respective cultural owners in Michigan and Italy.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys crocheting while watching true crime documentaries, playing Mario Kart with her husband, spending too long in bookstores, and trying new types of cookie dough ice cream.
