How to Choose a Research Topic

Choosing a topic for your research project can be difficult. There are many interesting topics in the world, but how do they fit the requirements of your assignment, and how do you find credible information on them?

Consider finding topics within one of these three categories:

  1. Something related to your background or hobbies
  2. Something you've read about in the news or on social media
  3. Something related to your favorite class subject

Once you have a short list of ideas, you can start brainstorming how to expand these into a research paper or project.
