CO-OPS & CAREERS Research Guide

The Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development provides you with the opportunities you need to turn theory into practice, and teaches you how to find the co-ops and jobs that best serve your interests and skills. Wentworth offers one of the most comprehensive cooperative education (co-op) programs of its kind in the nation. Unlike most schools, co-op at Wentworth is a requirement: all undergraduate day students must successfully complete two co-op semesters in order to graduate.

What is Co-op? 

A co-op is full-time, temporary employment in your field of study that enables you to apply classroom learning to professional work experience. At Wentworth a co-op must be 30+ hours per week and generally is completed between the first day of classes and the last day of finals during the semester you are working.

Co-ops & Careers and the Douglas D. Schumann Library are here to support you and help you achieve your professional goals. Every major has access to a dedicated Co-ops & Career Advisor, Co-op Institute - a seminar for undergraduate day students providing targeted support for your first co-op search, and networking opportunities including: two annual Co-ops & Career Fairs, a summer networking event, on-campus interviews, and a host of online and library sourced co-op and job search tools.
