Opening & Closing Procedures

For supervisors, check the "Info for Supervisors" tab on the left.

For students (per the checklist):

  • Retrieve the key to the drawers at the Circulation desk from the keybox in the back.
  • Collect gate counts from the main entrance, elevator on the mezzanine, and the entrance/exit to the mezzanine.
    • You can find the clipboard with paper forms by Patrick's desk. Leave the completed in the "Gate Counts" mailbox.
    • If there are no more forms, you can print more from the "Forms" section in the Access Guide.
  • Check the "WIT/FLO Holds" and "ILL/COMCAT Holds" shelves for expired holds.
    • If the holds are expired, throw away the hold slips and place the books on the appropriate shelves to be reshelved (i.e. if it is NOT a Wentworth book, place it from "WIT/FLO Holds" to "WIT/FLO Returns" or from "ILL/COMCAT Holds" to "ILL/COMCAT Returns" respectively; if it IS a Wentworth book, place to be reshelved as usual).
    • If there are many books set aside for one patron or for a professor, inform the supervisor on duty and ask if we should reach out to them.
  • Make sure the coffee machine is working.
    • Use the touch screen to make sure it is working. Let Malissa Redmond know if the coffee machine is not working.
  • Pick up the newspaper from the guard shack at the entrance of the West lot (Monday-Friday only).
  • Check the book bin for any returned books.
    • Retrieve the key to the book bin from the keybox in the back. Remove any returned materials, discharge them at the Circulation desk, and place them on the appropriate shelf to be reshelved.
