LIbrary Databases and Online Resources

Databases provide access to vooka, journal articles, conference proceedings, reports, news articles, and other materials.  There are three ways to access databases on the library homepage.

Search the Catalog: Allows you to do a broad search for all library materials including books, full text articles, streaming video, and much more.  

Research Guides: These are created by librarians to highlight resources by subject.  

Alphabetical Listing: The A-Z listing of library online resources.  This page  also has a drop down box for databases grouped by subject.  


You can access many newspapers (including the Boston Globe,WSJ, and many others) electronically using Proquest U.S. Newstream  or Proquest Central.  Stop by the library to read the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Financial Times, New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal in our cafe area.  

To access the Chronicle of Higher Education newsletters simply Create an Account.  We have an Institute-wide subscription that you can search by clicking The Chronicle of Higher Education.  

Schumann Library provides complimentary access to the New York Times, register for an account by visiting  

Boston Business Journal can be read via American Business Journals which includes news from 40+ major cities in the United States.

Nexis Uni provides access to over 5000 national and international news sites.

Interlibrary Loan

Schumann Library participates in a program of borrowing and lending between libraries, known as Interlibrary Loan.  If you find an item that you need please fill out an Interlibrary Loan Request.
