What can I put on reserve?
- Instructors may place books, DVDs, and other physical items on course reserve (for the semester) or permanent reserve (for an ongoing period). If the Library does not already own a copy of the item, you may choose to provide a personal copy, or the Library will purchase a copy to place on reserve.
What cannot be placed on reserve?
Because students can easily access the following materials from their permanent Library locations, we do not place on reserve:
- Reference materials
- Issues of print periodicals the Library owns
Due to copyright/licensing restrictions, we do not place on reserve:
- Items acquired via Interlibrary Loan
- Instructor's review copies
- Workbooks
- Coursepacks
- Photocopies*
*If you wish to provide access to photocopied portions of copyrighted works or photocopies of your own materials, consider placing these documents in your course module on Blackboard, to limit access to the students who are in your class. For assistance using Blackboard, please contact Learning, Innovation & Technology/LIT.
